I don't know who wrote that ^. But you guys were right, the tail sweep angles are different. I worked it out thankfully. Once I get the values I need, I will update the dimensions.

  3. I tried to get a new wing area using two methods. At the time Dr Greenwell said use one of the two which somehow I cant remember. Its either 34.02m2 or 25.95m2. Fahim can you please confirm which one from your emails I couldnt find your message in my inbox. All the other wing parameters remain the same for now and should be used as a reasonable input to everyones equations.

  4. Update:
    Wing area:25.95m2.
    Wing span b: 14.91m.
    Aspect ratio AR: 8.57.
    Root Chord: Cr= 2.299m.
    Tip Chord:1.18m
    M.A.C=1.8.
The wing area was improved using revised MTOW. However the wing area will be determined again using the contraint diagram which will be final. So all these values will change again. which means more work for me as well as everyone who uses these values. So everyone make sure you do your work on excel.

  5. I cannot confirm this because I deleted everything in my email before the exams because it was full and do not have the details. But how can you not know what the value is yourself.lol

Just to make sure no one gets confused the Wing Area, S can be calculated by:

    b^2/AR = S
    14.91^2/8.57 = 25.9403metres squared.

  6. Dear Abzy,

the only dimension we have to give you is if the wing has to be moved forward or backward. We are trying to calculate the cg range right now. Bruce will be emailing you the updated dimensions of the tail (that is tail span, fin area etc) soon. Once we get the cg range, we will be able to tell you if the position of the wing has been changed or not. About the other dimensions, then you will to have to ask the respective people concerned for that cause apart from Ilkay's values, I haven't got any other values.

Also is it possible for you to upload any updated dimensions of the aicraft (fuselage length, height, new distance of wing from nose (based on Mo's cg)on the blog please? that will help all of us in our calculations.

  7. Dear Mo,

Can you send me your calculations and the loading loops please. This is needed in order to do the tail sizings.

    Thanks

  8. Nothing has changed from before, the fuselage length stayed the same, the only thing that changed was the seating arrangement to allow for a gangway between the seats and so the seat widths changed too.

  9. And just to clarify, the fuselage was 10m and stayed that way. In the beginning we used an equations and it wasn't exactly 10m but close to it; Dr Greenwell said 10m was fine because that graph had a lot of scatter on it and in an effort to keep lengths smaller rather than larger 10 was chosen for simplicity.

  10. ALso, whoever needs it, the fuselage thickness is 4cm or 0.04m (the thickness meaning the wall of the fuselage)....
